LETTER IN THE NEW YORK
TIMES 6/11/06
Since people
get shorter as they age, the demand for petite clothing is about
to explode, as many baby boomers shrink to under 5-foot-4.
With
retirement being postponed, there will be a lot of women who
have the need and the money to buy new clothes. A smart
manufacturer would grab this market, and not only to make money.
Counteracting
the underlying ageism and sexism is great public relations with
baby boomers who do not tolerate bias.
